This year brought all the many reasons to celebrate and give thanks as Emilio Aguinaldo College faces the challenges and blessings in the 5th decade of its existence. Since 1973, EAC has been a leader in providing outstanding education not only to Filipino students but to foreign students as well.
The Commencement Exercise held last July 16th was the grand finale of the 50th Founding Anniversary of Emilio Aguinaldo College. This graduation ceremony is a reminder of the transformative power of EAC and the strength, determination, and resiliency of its students who have pursued their goals despite facing the toughest of circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year a total of 681 graduated from 29 programs. There were two Magna Cum Laude from the School of Radiologic Technology and 22 Cum Laude from different schools. Dr. Jose Paulo E. Campos, president of Emilio Aguinaldo College, conveyed his warmest greetings to the graduates and extended the accolades to include the parents, families, friends, faculty, and administrators who played a crucial role in the students’ achievements. He ended his message with a very touching and apt Irish prayer of blessing.
The esteemed public health expert, Dr. Maria Rosario S. Vergeire, MPH, CESO II currently the Undersecretary of the Department of Health was the keynote speaker. In her inspiring message, Dr. Vergeire narrated how her myriad experiences during her academic tenure made an impact on her life and how she was able to use these experiences and challenges as opportunities that made her more resolute and committed. She implored the graduates “Keep this fire burning as you exit the halls of PICC and onward to cementing your places in society.”
In her valedictory address, Mary Grace Areta, Magna Cum Laude from the School of Radiologic Technology spoke about gratitude, blessings, moments of grace, and another journey looming on the horizon as they tread the path to a successful career. She also enjoined her fellow graduates to continue to walk the path with her, unified by their desire to act on their dreams and begin the next chapter of their lives.
As Emilio Aguinaldo College takes a decisive step toward drastic growth in academics and athletics, it will continue to produce graduates who are knowledgeable, skilled, and ready to be globally competitive professionals.
